Signing in
This page is for anyone who's been invited to a Stratforge organization. It covers accepting your invitation, signing in day to day, and setting up an extra verification step if your organization asks for one.
If you're an admin setting these rules for everyone else, see Security overview and Authentication & SSO instead.
Accept your invitation
When someone adds you to an organization, you'll get an invitation email. Open it and follow the link to accept. If it's your first time with Stratforge, you'll be asked to finish setting up your account; if you already have a Stratforge account, accepting simply adds the new organization to it.
Once you've accepted, you're an active member and can sign in any time.
Invitations can expire or be resent. If your link no longer works, ask whoever invited you to send a fresh one from the Directory.
To sign in, go to your organization's Stratforge address and enter your credentials. After that, what you see depends on how your organization is set up:
- With a Stratforge password - enter your email and password as normal.
- With single sign-on (SSO) - if your organization connects to its own identity system, you'll sign in there with the account you already use at work (for example your company login). You may be sent to your company's sign-in page and then returned to Stratforge automatically.
You don't have to choose between these - your organization decides which routes are available, and you'll be shown the ones that apply to you.
Set up multi-factor authentication
Some organizations require multi-factor authentication (MFA) - a second check after your password so that a password alone isn't enough to get in. If yours does, you'll be guided to set it up the first time you sign in. You only do this once; after that you're asked for the second step at sign-in.
Stratforge offers two methods, and your organization decides which you can use:
- Authenticator app (TOTP) - use an app such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. During setup you scan a QR code (or copy the secret) with the app, then enter the 6-digit code it shows to confirm. From then on, you read a fresh code from the app each time you sign in.
- Email one-time code - Stratforge emails you a one-time code, which you enter to finish signing in. To use this method your email address needs to be verified first.
The authenticator app keeps working even when your email is slow or unavailable, so it's a dependable choice if both are offered.
You can review or change your own verification methods later on Your account.
Trouble signing in
- The page keeps sending you back to sign in - close the tab and start again from your organization's address; a stale link can cause a loop.
- Your SSO login isn't accepted - your organization may have turned that provider off or changed it. Check with your admin.
- You've lost your second step (new phone, no authenticator app) - ask your admin; they can help you get back in and re-enrol.
